The Way Ahead – Nikki Capp

Enabling people to live transformed lives through our love in words and actions is a high calling and a significant responsibility. What an incredible blessing I have been given to join the Entrust community, and with you, our supporters, partners, staff, volunteers, board and friends, make a difference in the lives of the poor and oppressed in some of the hardest places in the world.
The legacies of both our founder Eugene Veith, with his passion for the poor, vision and generosity, and Richard Beaumont whose long-term leadership and capacity to connect people for impact in the lives of the most disadvantaged, mean I come into this role standing on strong shoulders.
I’m so excited to be joining and working with our capable and experienced staff team and our Board, who I know are each passionately invested in the cause of Entrust. I bring to Entrust a long-term calling and commitment to fighting poverty and injustice, and a conviction that inequality and inequity are never ok.
I am really looking forward to meeting and getting to know our supporters, for whom I suspect, part of the decision to journey with Entrust and invest time and resources, is about reversing the imbalance and the inhumanity which poverty subjects people to. I believe our supporters, like our whole Entrust team, want to see a more balanced distribution of wealth and opportunity in our world so that no one is without access to safe water and a place to live, education, a source of income and the opportunity to make choices and decisions about their own lives. Individuals, families and communities the world over deserve to be able to determine how they live, thrive, love and also invest in the lives of others.
Richard and I have had the blessing of a phase of ‘baton change’ for the last 3 months of 2023, so I have been listening and learning all I can, not only about what Entrust has achieved so far, but importantly, how everyone involved – supporters, staff, volunteers, board – hope to see Entrust grow and evolve for even greater impact in the lives of the poor and oppressed who we exist to serve.

Our plan is to spend the next 12 months consolidating all that is Entrust to date and establishing the platform for our next stage of growth. I am so enthusiastic and excited about all that is to come, and plan to bring all that I am to supporting the people and plans we need to have in place grow our impact.
It’s going to require all of us investing what we each uniquely bring, so get ready for me to ask you individually how you will join with us in the next phase of the bright future for Entrust in transforming the lives of the poor and oppressed in the hard places where we work.
