Overview
This three-year project provides children with access to safe care, a nurturing environment, and opportunities to break free from cycles of vulnerability and exploitation. Women who are trafficked want to give their children a different life but typically don’t know how. Daycare helps mothers parent their children to be educated and empowered. Children will develop the skills they need to thrive in life and school while their mothers work or train. The program will empower mothers and fathers with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to sustainably parent their own children, fostering long-term family stability and child well-being. It will also equip daycare staff with specialised training in childcare, adolescent care, parenting, and trauma-informed care to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and effective support for children and their families.
Why support this
Our partners provide support and training for women who are street based sex workers, are at risk of being trafficked or are survivors of sexual trafficking. They liaise with government schools, medical facilities and service providers as required. Their vision is to see women and their children who have been victims of exploitation and/or are living in street situations develop holistically, help each other and return to society.
