Overview
For more than a decade, our partners in Bali have been assisting impoverished communities in securing clean water and healthcare services. Many villages lack convenient access to clean water, depending solely on unhealthy runoff from rice fields that diminishes during the dry season. In some areas, water availability is not the issue; rather, the absence of a fair distribution system among households poses a challenge. This project aims to collaborate with six Bali villages, where geographical distance and financial constraints are the primary obstacles to accessing clean water. Additionally, the project includes training sessions on infrastructure maintenance to ensure its sustainability in the long term.
Why support this
Our partners work closely with villagers who are motivated to improve their situations, ensuring strong local support for this sustainable project. Instead of applying a standardised approach, solutions are carefully tailored to each community's specific needs. Training locals empowers the community to sustainably maintain the infrastructure long after our partners have left. Additionally, community members contribute labour and some building materials, demonstrating a genuine investment in their future.
