About Us
What we do
Our vision is to enable hope in hard places. We long to see the lives of the poor and oppressed transformed through effective community development.
We achieve this by partnering with local organisations, empowering grassroots projects in tough places to bring life change to those who need it most. At the same time, we develop relationships with generous donor partners who desire maximum impact and sustainable change for those in greatest need. Trusted partnerships is at the heart of what we do.
With over 60 years collective experience we have identified five key areas which when addressed, offer the greatest prospect of transformational and sustainable development – education, clean water and sanitation, economic empowerment, combatting human trafficking and emergency relief. We partner with 55 organisations across Africa, India and South East Asia, to enable hope in the hard places.
Why we are different
Entrust understands that the greatest needs in our world rarely feature on the 6 o’clock news. Our carefully selected overseas partners are locals who can influence change in unjust systems, empower urban slums and strengthen remote communities. We choose nations and target areas within them that can have a great impact.
100% of the funds donated through Entrust are given to the communities on the ground who need it most. We know this, because before your money goes there, we do. We visit, perform our due diligence and connect regularly with our partners on each of the 70 projects we manage across 13 countries.
Who we work with
Rather than working with or international NGOs, we choose to partner with in-country, local organisations with a proven track record. They are carefully vetted by our team, and we build a high-trust relationship with them. We choose people with knowledge and understanding of the needs in their community. They have little or no exposure to outside funding and live in nations where the systems are broken. Our partners seek mentoring, training and support through high level accountability.

Where we began
Entrust Foundation has generous and humble beginnings. Eugene Veith started a transport business in the mid-1930s and grew it to become the largest parcel delivery enterprise in Melbourne by the mid-80s. Eugene’s Christian faith inspired him to help the world’s poor and disadvantaged by giving away his profit, drawing only a basic wage for himself and his family. He distributed an estimated $23 million in his lifetime! The Entrust Foundation was formed in 2008, two years before Eugene died, to continue the work beyond his lifetime. Now 15 years on, we are a highly respected not-for-profit organisation, partnering with 55 overseas organisations in Africa, India and Asia, to enable hope in hard places.
