Overview

This integrated poverty reduction project targets 10 remote villages in Taoi District, Salavan Province, home to over 6,300 people from ethnic minority groups including the Ta-oi, Pa Koh, Ka Tang, and Ka Tieng. These communities face widespread poverty, food insecurity, preventable disease, gender inequality, and weak governance structures. The project takes a holistic approach to improve health and well-being, strengthen livelihoods and build local governance capacity. Together, these interventions aim to break the cycle of generational poverty and equip communities with the tools to build a healthier, more resilient future.

Why support this

These isolated ethnic communities face a cycle of poverty driven by poor health, food shortages, and limited opportunities—especially for women and vulnerable families. Without intervention, preventable diseases, early school dropout, and economic instability will continue to undermine progress and deepen disadvantage. This project takes a proven, community-led approach to address the root causes of poverty in a holistic way. By strengthening local capacities in health, livelihoods, and governance, it aims to create lasting, sustainable change and empower communities to shape their own future.
