Our partner works in Phnom Penh’s slum communities, supporting families and children who have not yet accessed formal education or are struggling in school. They seek out children with a desire to learn and walk alongside them throughout their schooling years, with many continuing on to university and further opportunities. This project forms a key part of our partner’s Education Program, strengthening community-based learning centres that provide Khmer and foundational Math tutoring. These centres also offer safe spaces where children can complete homework and participate in a range of classes, such as English, Computers, Art, Music, and Sports.
Why support this
This program goes beyond simply enrolling children in school. It focuses on those often overlooked by society, helping them thrive, discover their purpose, reach their potential, and grow as future leaders. Significant effort is devoted to identifying children from challenging circumstances - those living in slums, on the streets, or facing neglect or exploitation. These children are guided into education, nurtured to develop a love of learning, and inspired to envision a future beyond their wildest dreams.
